Promotion of young talent
The University of Wuppertal promotes the qualification of young academics in all career phases. The Centre for Graduate Studies (ZGS) serves doctoral candidates and those interested in doctoral studies from all faculties as a central advice centre in matters relating to the promotion and organisation of doctorates. It also supports networking and the research activities of doctoral students. The research funding team provides advice on national, European and other international postdoctoral funding programmes.
Special institutional opportunities for doctoral students and postdocs are offered by our research training groups and alliances, collaborative research centres, research units and research alliances.
A further education and training programme as well as a career service support successful career paths from doctorate to professorship or into the professional world beyond the university. In terms of academic personnel development geared towards equal opportunities and diversity, the University of Wuppertal also relies on targeted support programmes and an incentive system to promote young female talent.
