Invitation to students and lecturers
Have your say and help shape it: Study day on the teaching mission statement
The Day of Study has been taking place at the University of Wuppertal for many years. It is a university-wide event for all students and teaching staff on the topic of "Quality of study and teaching". Lectures and discussions are held on selected topics. This year, everything revolves around the development of the "Teaching Mission Statement". The implementation and organisation of the day is therefore the responsibility of those responsible for the mission statement teaching process.
From 13:00 to 16:30, the results and ideas from the decentralised workshops on the "Teaching Mission Statement" will be presented and discussed in Building K. In order to enable all teaching staff and students to participate, there will be no classes during this period.
Teaching mission statement
The process, which was launched in February, should result in a fully formulated mission statement at the beginning of 2025. We are currently working together to determine what this will look like and what priorities it will set. Only one thing is clear: "The mission statement for teaching should not be a 'paper tiger', but should have an impact". This was emphasised by Prof. Dr Susanne Buch, Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching, in her introductory presentation at the kick-off event. The mission statement will serve as the basis for the development of projects and measures to further improve the quality of teaching and learning. All members of the University of Wuppertal are invited to contribute to the teaching mission statement at any time.
