Support at eye level
In order to find your way around a new university, it is particularly important to make new contacts, get to know people and settle into the university location.
At the University of Wuppertal a buddy system has been established that allows indivdual support at eye level. Experienced students of our university meet up with international students in order to provide comprehensive insights into your courses and your life at the University of Wuppertal.
This means students can make friends, can raise their awareness for cultural issues and can mutually improve their own language skills.
Our buddies are specially trained beforehand and will be your personal contact points.

Our volunteer buddies will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have about everyday study life.
Would you like to volunteer to support international students?
Being a buddy means: supporting, accompanying and the opportunity to make intercultural friends.
They enter into exchange with students from a wide range of faculties and cultures.
Every semester you will receive a certificate of voluntary commitment. This is welcome by many employers and scholarships. If you are interested, simply fill in the contact form above and send it to us!

Please register for the events by intouch[at]uni-wuppertal.de. After successful registration you will also receive the link to the corresponding Zoom room. Depending on the number of participants, we reserve the right to offer a second date for the workshop "Intercultural Sensitisation for In Touch Buddies".
The training is aimed at all active as well as new buddies in the In Touch programme. Students who are active in looking after international guests at the Bergische outside of the Buddy Programme are very welcome to attend the "Intercultural Sensitisation" workshop, provided there are still places available.
