From Wuppertal to Asia: The "Friends of the University" support projects with 6,500 euros
What is logistics property in Tokyo all about? What do innovative property concepts look like in Asia? An excursion by 15 architecture students from Wuppertal to the partner university in Tokyo will shed light on the subject and show how research is being conducted into the economically most important property class in Tokyo and how it is being implemented. This involves large-volume buildings in conveniently located peripheral areas. Multi-storey logistics properties have been established for many years in the dense conurbations of major Asian cities. FABU is funding the 17-day excursion with further stops in Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shenzhen with around 2,000 euros.
The cross-university cooperation with the Pina Bausch Dance Theatre is also being supported. On 27 January in Wuppertal, academics from Argentina and France will not only discuss the social message of dance theatre from a scientific and theoretical perspective, but will also put theory into practice with a dance workshop. The Pina Bausch Day will end in the evening with a public panel discussion. Another recipient of funding is the University of Wuppertal and its student councils, which are organising a Christmas market for members and friends of the university for the second time.
The Verein der Freunde und Alumni der Bergischen Universität e.V. is an interdisciplinary association of citizens and companies in the region who form a strong network for the approximately 21,000 students, alumni, members and partners of the University of Wuppertal. Among other things, the association supports projects at the University of Wuppertal and sees itself as a bridge between research and business.
