The "Open Doors Start-up Centre & WES" event promises a day full of inspiration. On 8 November, students, founders and interested parties will meet in the Freiraum, the innovation laboratory of the university of Wuppertal, in an environment with a wide range of impulses. Workshops and networking in a relaxed atmosphere offer space for ideas and dialogue.

The Freiraum (Bärenstraße 11-13, 42117 Wuppertal) will open its doors from 2 pm. Over snacks and drinks, participants can find out more about the student co-working space at the University of Wuppertal, the services offered by the Start-up Centre (SUC) and the work of Women Entrepreneurs in Science (WES).

Without a fixed programme, four themed areas can be visited from 3 pm:

  • Sustainability Space: Here, interested parties can find out what sustainability means for start-ups and how the circular economy and other models can be implemented to make an impact.
  • Design Discussion: From product design and user experience to branding - this area offers the opportunity for in-depth discussions and creative exchange.
  • Business Model Booster: Participants can scrutinise their business models and develop them further with well-founded feedback and suggestions for optimisation. Those who do not yet have an idea will learn the basics of a business model and how it can be developed.
  • Pitch training: The art of pitching is essential for founders, but it is also a valuable skill. Participants will receive valuable tips on how to set up a pitch deck and give a presentation.

From 6 pm it's spot on: Key players in the WES network will be given a stage to thank them for their commitment and showcase the diversity of the female start-up scene.

The event is aimed at students, founders and creative minds, regardless of their university or professional background.

Interested parties can register on the event website.
