University Rector Prof. Dr Birgitta Wolff today presented the cheque for 5924.10 euros to Angela Wegener, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Radio Wuppertal, and Susanne Bossy, Chairwoman of the Board of Caritasverband Wuppertal/Solingen e.V.
"Our aim is to enable children in Wuppertal to participate in social programmes that not only strengthen them in acute crises, but also in the long term. It's great that the people of Wuppertal have been supporting this with their donations for 20 years. We also see the donation from Wuppertal University as a great sign of solidarity with children who do not have a successful path ahead of them without outside support. Thank you for that!" says Susanne Bossy.
Kindertal e. V. is supported by the charitable organisations Caritas and Diakonie, Radio Wuppertal and Stadtsparkasse Wuppertal. In addition to aid such as clothing and cots, the organisation supports children in Wuppertal in their personal development with individual assistance and project funding. "Whether we are funding a music project in a daycare centre, a yoga project in a primary school with special needs or paying contributions to a sports club or instrumental lessons for children from poor families. We also attach great importance to educationally supervised recreational activities during the school holidays, such as those organised by charities," says Susanne Bossy.
