SommerUni 2025: Register now and get a taste of studying!

31.03.2025|08:12 Uhr

From 30 June to 4 July 2025, the University of Wuppertal welcomes young women to the SummerUni. The event offers high school students from all over Germany the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of science and technology for a week. Under the motto "A week of trial study", participants can explore the STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) free of charge and gain valuable insights into the relevant degree programmes and career prospects.

With more than 90 individual events, students have a varied programme to choose from. They can put together their own individual timetable according to their interests - without any prior knowledge. Registration is now open via the SummerUni registration page; the deadline for registration is 30 May. Participation is free of charge.

The SummerUni gives young women interested in STEM subjects a week-long insight into studying science and technology at the University of Wuppertal - and of course into student life. The aim of the programme is to get to know and try out studying, current research practice and career options. The programme includes lectures, exercises, workshops and experiments from the subjects of chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, computer science, mechanical engineering, safety engineering, industrial design, architecture and civil engineering.

"Many of the SummerUni events invite you to join in and try things out. Here, participants can discover their own interests and strengths in STEM subjects. Our aim is to break down prejudices against technical and scientific degree programmes and encourage young women to consider this exciting career option. Specialists in these fields are in particularly high demand," explains project manager Ursula Skraburski.

As in previous years, the schoolgirls will be accompanied throughout the week by tutors who will share their own experiences and support them as they enter the world of higher education.

Further information on the schedule and programme can be found on the SommerUni website.
