On 21 November at 2 p.m., the central student guidance and counselling services (ZSB) of the University of Wuppertal will be hosting a panel discussion on the topic of "Detour to university". At the event, Jennifer Abels, student counsellor and systemic counsellor in the "Projekt bergauf. Perspektiven bei Studienzweifeln" ("Project uphill. Perspectives in case of study doubts"), together with her colleagues from the Employment Agency, the Bergische IHK and the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts, will answer urgent questions from students who have doubts about their studies. After the event, students will have the opportunity to talk to the counsellors individually. The panel discussion will take place in person in room B.06.01 in building B on the Grifflenberg campus, and guests can also join in via ZOOM.

No doubt, everyone has doubts sometimes! And they can be normal and temporary. But what happens when students wonder whether a degree programme is right for them? How do you get out of it? And what do potential employers say about the "diversions to university"?

The advisors from the Central Student Guidance and Counselling Services, the Employment Agency, the Bergische IHK and the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts and Trades talk to former students who are having doubts about their studies and show them possible ways to change subjects or switch to training and careers. They will dispel prejudices and give helpful tips on how young people can find their individual career aspirations. After the event, there will be the opportunity for one-to-one discussions.

Detailed information and dialling-in details can be found on the event website.
