Anja Liedtke, who holds a doctorate in German studies, is one of the few German-speaking writers who specialise in nature writing. She is coming to the University Library at the invitation of the advanced seminar "Nature Writing and Nature Poetry" of the Wuppertal German Department (School of Humanities). The event is a co-operation with GEDOK Wuppertal e. V. (Association of Women Artists and Art Supporters).

In her texts, Anja Liedtke takes us on a journey to local regions, but also to Finland, Wales, Italy, France, the Czech Republic and a Dutch island. "Her prose is versatile: sometimes atmospherically self-forgetful, sometimes reflective and revelling in (travel) memories, sometimes encyclopaedic - and always wonderfully condensed and pointed," says the event announcement.

Cellist Annette Rettich, winner of the international "Charles Hennen Concours" and active in various ensembles, will accompany the reading. Dr Christine Hummel, Head of Central Student Guidance and Counselling Services, will moderate the event.
