Jahr100Wissen: A man of balance

Friedrich Ebert, the first President of the Weimar Republic, died on 28 February 1925. He was a man who came from humble beginnings and worked his way up to the top of the state. However, his time in office was characterised by political tensions and bitter battles for the young democracy. In the Jahr100Wissen interview, Wuppertal historian Dr Arne Karsten talks about Ebert's life, his political challenges and his legacy.
