L-GrIn+ officially launched
Further development of the internationalisation of teacher training in Wuppertal

The participants learnt about the international teacher training project at the University of Wuppertal.
Students and teachers from the Bachelor's degree programmes in primary school teaching and special needs education came together on the Grifflenberg campus to find out about the goals and offers of the new project. In addition to an informative overview of the international teacher training project, the event also provided space for dialogue and networking.
Planned mobility formats and offers for internationalisation@home at the university of Wuppertal were presented. The contribution from former L-GrIn participants was particularly impressive: Students who were able to gain experience abroad between 2021 and 2024 as part of the predecessor project "Primary School Teacher Education International" presented their impressions and experiences in an exhibition. This gave interested fellow students the opportunity to find out first-hand about study and practical placements and ask specific questions.
L-GrIn+
The project "Teacher Training Primary School and Special Needs Education International - L-GrIn+", led by Prof Dr Gela Preisfeld, has been carried out at the University of Wuppertal since the beginning of 2025 as part of the "Lehramt.International" funding line of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It builds on the successful predecessor project L-GrIn and expands it to include the perspective of special needs education. The aim is to systematically and sustainably internationalise teacher training in Wuppertal. Students should gain international perspectives on schools and teaching through study and practical placements at European universities and schools as well as through international formats at their own university - such as spring schools in Wuppertal or joint courses with partner universities. These experiences make a significant contribution to the development of their professionalism as teachers.
