21.06.2024|09:20 Uhr

A brand new and many established degree programmes, an attractive scholarship programme: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Media Technology at the University of Wuppertal has a lot to offer. Especially for prospective students who want to make the world more sustainable in the future. On 27 June, those responsible are inviting students to the Open Faculty Day at the Freudenberg campus. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can find out about the programmes on offer.

What can I study? Is there a degree programme with a focus on sustainability? How do I finance my studies? On this afternoon, all pupils, school leavers and prospective students will gain an insight into studying at the faculty. They will find out what is behind individual subjects, what the new "Smart and Sustainable Systems" degree programme (see info box) has to offer and even more: what they can do and achieve with their studies later on. Visitors can also experience virtual reality at interactive stations, talk to chatbots , build solar boats or crack a password in a live hacking demo.

In total, around 20 chairs will provide an insight into the world of smart and sustainable electrical, information and media technology. Current students of the faculty will also take guests on various tours and open the doors to laboratories and rooms: there will be a solar system with charging equipment, the semiconductor and robot laboratory, numerous electrical machines and their drives as well as insights into 3D printing and the possibilities of media technology.

The Info Lounge on the Open Faculty Day is located in front of and in the large lecture hall centre on the Freudenberg campus, building FZH, Rainer-Gruenter-Straße.

The meeting points for the lab tours are marked with stands in front of the lecture hall centre.

A degree programme for future shapers

How do the technologies that help drive the energy transition, network the world of work and support society with increasingly complex tasks work? The new "Smart and Sustainable Systems" degree programme at the University of Wuppertal will provide this knowledge from the winter semester 2024/25. Curious already? On the website on the topic of sustainability interested parties can find answers to the most important questions - from "What is actually meant by Smart and Sustainable Systems" to "Where can I find a job later?".
