University in motion: a wide range of offers for a healthy study-life balance

As diverse as the programmes developed in the Moving University seminar are, they all pursue one goal: creating experiences for the community and for getting to know each other. // Photo Peter Gwiazda
Creative flow
Spending relaxed creative evenings together - that's what the Kreativfluss is all about. There is no judgement here, but rather trying things out together. Students can register for the topics "Painting" (5 May, 4 to 6 pm) and "Making your own soap" (28 May, 4.30 to 6.30 pm). A further date on the subject of "Lego" is being planned. The courses are limited to ten participants. Materials are provided for all courses and there is no charge.
Location: Building H, Room 10.03
There is a waiting list for the fully booked course "Designing coasters from epoxy resin" (2 June, 4 to 6 pm).
A walk in the countryside
"Out of the midday slump, into the countryside!" is the motto on 14 May. Together in a group, participants will take an hour's break from everyday study life - fresh air and the chance to get to know fellow students included. At the meeting point, anyone who wants to can get a drink and/or snack for the way.
Meeting point: Cafeteria Sport & Design, 1 pm

Move and Discover
If you want to get to know the university and your fellow students in an exciting and fun way and get lots of ideas for a healthy and mindful everyday (study) life, the interactive geocaching tour "Move and Discover" on 15 May is the right place for you. All you need is a smartphone with a sufficiently charged battery.
In small groups, participants will embark on a varied puzzle tour across the campus grounds: they will pass central locations, hidden corners and places that play a key role in health, exercise and well-being on campus.
Meeting point: 3 pm in front of the university library
Note for BUW students: Attend the "University in Motion" seminar
Are you also interested in increasing the well-being of students with your own project ideas? The "University in Motion" seminar always starts in the winter semester. In the first few weeks, you will work in small groups to collect ideas for student health promotion that you want to implement at the end. Health promotion is broadly conceived: it is about physical, mental and social well-being. At the end of the winter semester, the teams present their concepts to a jury in an idea pitch. This awards three winning projects, which receive prize money to realise their idea. The fine-tuning takes place in the summer semester; once the concept is ready to go, it is a matter of publicising, inviting and implementing the activities.
The seminar is offered by the University of Wuppertal's Student Health Centre and is open to all students in the optional area. The next start is in the winter semester 25/26.
Save the date: Student Health Week from 12 to 16 May
Student Health Week is an integral part of the Student Health Centre's health programme and takes place every semester - in the current summer semester from 12 to 16 May. They offer students workshops, lectures, practical courses and get-together events on the topic of health.
Information on the programme and booking, which is already open, can be found on the Student Health Week website.
