"Forgotten diversity"
Exhibition about Flora Klee-Palyi in the university library
Despite her wide-ranging interests and excellent networking in the literary and artistic avant-gardes of her time, the work of Flora Klee-Palyi (1893-1961), a graphic artist, translator, editor and essayist based in Wuppertal, has been almost completely forgotten. "This is surprising, as she was highly praised for her work by well-known contemporaries such as Hans Arp," explains Dr Agathe Mareuge, current Maurice Halbwachs Visiting Professor at the University of Wuppertal.
The exhibition was created as part of her seminar "Exhibiting Literature" and now focuses on the highly diverse work of Wuppertal-based Klee-Palyi : In addition to a biographical overview, her multifaceted activities and her Franco-German commitment are presented.
