EU scholarships: Erasmus+ programme

International academic mobility is becoming increasingly important. Since 1987, the Erasmus+ programme, which was launched by the European Commission, has been promoting study visits and internships in 34 countries.

EU scholarships: Erasmus+ programme

Among other things, the Erasmus+ programme supports student exchanges lasting between two and twelve months (for studies or internships).

As an Erasmus+ scholarship holder, you do not pay any tuition fees abroad, credits earned are recognised and you also receive a monthly grant (german only) of up to 600 euros (study) or 750 euros (internship). The amount of funding depends on three country groups (based on the cost of living) set up by the EU Commission. Since 2018, the National Agency for EU Higher Education Cooperation at the DAAD has determined the funding rates for studies and internships within these groups. → Funding rates

Good to know: Erasmus+ scholarships can be combined with BAföG/student finance services and the Deutschlandstipendium. Students who take their children abroad with them receive additional funding, as do students with a disability. → Social Top-Up

Applications for an Erasmus+ scholarship should be sent directly to the International Office.
