Weltlöwe 2024: Announcement of the prize for international commitment

The prize: The Weltlöwe is endowed with EUR 6,000 - a budget that can be used specifically for internationalisation projects. Whether for the further development of existing initiatives or the realisation of new ideas - the prize is intended to help raise the university's international profile.
Who can nominate and how? Professors and academic staff at the University of Wuppertal who are actively involved in internationalisation can be nominated, whether for ongoing projects or through proven formats of cooperation. Members of the university can submit nominations via the dean's offices - informally with a brief description of the measures implemented, the goals set and the successes achieved. Nominations should be sent by e-mail to the International Center addressed to the Vice-Rector for Third Mission and International Affairs.
These are the most important selection criteria: What are the outstanding merits or special commitment of the person proposed? To what extent have the measures implemented and goals pursued sustainably supported the internationalisation of the university? How many academics or students benefit from the project? Or was third-party funding raised to a particular extent? To what extent does this make the university more visible internationally?
The deadline for submissions is Mon, 28 April 2025.
The prize will be awarded at a ceremony during the Senate meeting in summer 2025.
