"Experience France" - Market of Opportunities on 8 May 2025 as part of the France Days at the University of Wuppertal

27.03.2025|12:54 Uhr

Germany and France: A partnership for Europe. The university of Wuppertal maintains close relationships with French universities and partners. In recent years, these have been strengthened by the establishment of new binational degree programmes such as 'Applied Cultural and Economic Studies: German-French' and 'Applied German-French Studies: Culture, Economy and Sustainability', diverse partnerships within the framework of Erasmus+ and the Franco-German University, a broad network of events on French literature (Rencontres littéraires), philosophy and politics ('What moves France') as well as the Maurice Halbwachs Visiting Professorship, which is filled annually with academics from French universities and non-university research institutions.

In order to introduce university members and interested parties to France as an attractive destination country, the University's International Centre organises a:

Market of Opportunities

on Thu, 8 May 2025 from 11:00 - 15:00

Main Campus Grifflenberg, inner courtyard of the University Library (level 06).

In addition to information on the topic of "Experience France", the event offers direct contact with representatives of French partner universities, faculties, students and employees who have already completed a stay in France, best practices and the opportunity to exchange experiences.

Numerous exhibitors await you: From external organisations such as the Educational Exchange Service, the Junior University Wuppertal and the Deutsch-Französische Gesellschaft Duisburg e.V., to internal university institutions such as the Language Teaching Institute, Career Service, Central Student Guidance and Counselling Services and the International Office, everything is represented.

The programme is complemented by the Bibliobus multimedia, the Institut Français Düsseldorf's French media library on wheels, a contribution from the Deutsch-Französischer Kindergarten e.V. (12:00) and Uni-Sport, which brings the Tour de France to the campus. A crêpes food truck will provide refreshments.

Afterwards, the "Country Evening France" will take place from 18:00 - 20:00 in the premises of the "Kirche an der Uni", Oberer Grifflenberg 158, 42119 Wuppertal.

We will watch episodes of ARTE short formats such as ARTE Journal and Karambolage and discuss the significance of this multilingual channel at the cutting edge with Jeanette Süß (Comité d'études des relations franco-allemandes, Paris), Carolin Ollivier (ARTE Journal), Prof. Erica von Moeller (audiovisual media design, Wuppertal) and students. The musical finale with a party atmosphere will be provided by the pop-jazz-funk band "Talmates", who have put together a French music programme exclusively for the French Days.

The complete programme of the French Days can be found on the website of the Department of Romance Studies of the School of Humanities: https: //www.romanistik.uni-wuppertal.de/de/transfer/frankreichtage/
