Europe has been funding the Erasmus+ program for over 30 years. Since 2015, Erasmus+ has expanded this opportunity and enables mobility projects from other countries or to other countries around the world. Mobility projects for staff (for teaching and training purposes) are also funded. The program not only enables german participants to go abroad; it is also specifically aimed at attracting the brightest international minds to Europe.
In principle, the same framework conditions apply to this program line as to the Erasmus+ program within Europe (see also Erasmus+ Study Abroad).
We would like to introduce the partner countries with which we are already implementing the new program line involving non-EU partner countries.

Funding rates for student mobility
The financial support for Erasmus+ stays in partner countries was defined by the European Commission at European level:
Sending country | destination country | amount |
---|---|---|
Germany | Argentina/Colombia/Namibia/South Korea/Ukraine | 700,- EUR per month |
Argentina/Colombia/Namibia/South Korea/Ukraine | Germany | 850,- EUR per month |
These daily rates are supplemented by travelling costs depending on the actual distances between the place of departure and destination of the mobility. The distances are calculated using the Commission's "Distance Calculator" tool.
The one-way distance is the basis for calculating the amount of EU financial aid for the outward and return journey.
One-way distance according to distance calculator | amount (unit costs) per participant (= return journey) |
---|---|
10 - 99 km | 23 Euro |
100 - 499 km | 180 Euro |
500 - 1,999 km | 275 Euro |
2,000 - 2,999 km | 360 Euro |
3,000 - 3,999 km | 530 Euro |
4,000 - 7,999 km | 820 Euro |
8,000 km and more | 1,500 Euro |
