There are many reasons for a stay abroad: A stay abroad enhances your qualifications and simultaneously increases your chances in the job market. Students who have completed a stay abroad typically find employment much more quickly and are therefore less likely to be unemployed. The EU Commission has also commissioned a study (german only) that confirms this result (german only).
Many employers value graduates who have gained international experience, as they have not only improved their language skills but also acquired intercultural competencies. A stay abroad also benefits you personally: You become more open to new experiences, hone your "soft skills," and contribute to your personal development.
Regardless of the type of stay abroad you choose, the time spent abroad will allow you to develop personally and achieve positive effects for your future career!
