Transfer priorities of the faculties
The faculties' understanding of transfer is as diverse as the range of subjects at our university and has different focal points and fields of activity. Common to all faculties is the territorial radius of action of their transfer activities: from local to international.
In addition, transfer is understood by all teaching and research areas as a bidirectional process: technical expertise, methodological competence and networked thinking are provided as answers and proposed solutions to concrete challenges of business, institutions and society, processed and presented via suitable formats.
In return, students and researchers work together with regional players to identify and define application-oriented research and development needs, which are then addressed across faculties and on the basis of qualitative cornerstones of scientific work.
Differences in the understanding of transfer lie, among other things, in the way knowledge is prepared and made available, in the formats chosen, and in the target groups addressed: While the exchange with scientific institutions (universities, research centers and institutes) is carried out equally by all faculties, the focus for cooperation with the economy is more in the engineering and economic sciences. The humanities, cultural studies, humanities and social sciences, on the other hand, cooperate more with various social institutions.
The structure of the following selected transfer projects of the faculties follows the profile lines of BUW (see explanation in the mission statement and in the transfer strategy).
